GAC (and other) Medallist Series
Like many professional societies, GAC honours prominent members of our community for their long-
term contributions to Earth Sciences in Canada. These individuals may be honoured for their influential
research, for their teaching and mentorship, or for their service to the community on a more general
scale.Medallists are invited to write a paper for Geoscience Canada on the topics for which they are best known, and which reflect their interests and research findings. We also encourage invitees to address conceptual issues in Earth Science in a way that is accessible to non-specialists and above all to students. Typically, medallist series papers are of great value in the classroom.
We have now extended this initiative to provide an opportunity for medallists connected to sections and divisions of GAC, and other associated societies such as CANQUA.
